Facing The Dreamer
I know that I was going to try to do poetry for most of this challenge, but this piece demands a different approach.
A lot of what I wanted to achieve as a writer I already have, so I want to start out with what I am grateful for.
I never imagined that my work would have fans, and I am so grateful to those of you that find escape in my stories. It is such an amazing feeling to be able to connect with people through my worlds, and I will always be floored that it happened.
I’ve published books! That’s insane!
and I’ve even made some money with my writing.
I am so grateful to this community, who gives me no shortage of things to read and inspiration to keep writing.
Now, onto what I want to achieve. I’ll be using this as a manifestation tool, but also as a way to keep my future self accountable to the Mina of this moment (she runs a tight ship lol).
I will try traditional publishing at least once in my life, most likely with the (currently unnamed) book I’m working on right now.
By the end of 2026, I will have published:
Ophiocordyceps: Resonance
Bloodied Knees: A Poetry Collection
By the end of 2027, I will have published:
Fearfully Ever After: A Collection of Dark Fairy Tales
My currently unnamed book
I will also find some artists to work with that can help me turn my Redemption is Overrated series into comic books/graphic novels.
But I think that the most important thing that I will do is stop being shy when I say I’m a writer. I will own it, I will know exactly what it looks like, and I will embody that version of myself fully.
So, as I’m working on all of these tangible things, I will also find the confidence within myself to say “I am a writer, and my stories mean something.”
