Speed Running Purgatory
Micro Fiction March - Week Three
The sun rises again Shining right in your eye "A new day is here!" Man, what a lie. Cookie cutter houses Housing cookie cutter lives Every smile a threat Mouths filled with knives. We're here for a reason That's what they all say But what great evil Deserves a fucking HOA. One day we'll move on To either Heaven or Hell But I'm already there It's only missing the smell. They just don't see How fucked they really are Life is for the living Theirs ended with a memoir. All that awaits them Both up and down Nothing but suffering And they call me the clown. They don't know it yet But I have a reason To escape this modern Hell Before the end of the season. So I'll play their game Speed run Purgatory Play the part of piety Just another success story.

This is delightfully dark and sharp…. like slam poetry for suburban purgatory. The HOA line actually made me laugh, and the way you twist “success story” into something sinister at the end is chef’s kiss.🥀🥀🥀
Ooh, fun read!
