The Deepest Pit - Part Four
Lucifer wrapped his arm around Ophelia as they walked through the corridors of Morningstar Castle. Her eyes filled with wonder as he showed her countless paintings depicting women throughout history that learned to stand on their own, telling her how she could find her power too.
“The first thing you need to know is that no one will save you.” Lucifer said as he gripped her shoulder, “I can give you the key, but you have to unlock the door for yourself.”
As Lilith and her army stepped through the portal and into the Wrath Ring, the demons and sinners that looked upon her looked as though they were gazing upon an angel. Countless sinners flocked to her, surrounding her like a shepherd’s sheep.
“I offer you a chance to rise up and take control of your own afterlife” Lilith’s hypnotic voice rang out, “Take my hand, and together we will unlock the door.”
The sinners around her erupted into cheers and followed her through the next portal.
Wisps of golden light shot through the air in the observatory as Lucifer showed Ophelia the secrets that lie in the stars; secrets that the humans had only just begun uncovering.
“You see, if you channel your magic during times that the planets are aligned in a certain way, the world will open to you.” Lucifer took Ophelia’s hand, flying her into the air and dancing with her among the planets.
Lilith stood atop a roulette table in the Greed Ring as the sinners and demons stared up at her, star struck at her presence. Their eyes glistened as crimson light shot from her fingertips, displaying the night sky above them.
“The age of Aquarius is upon us, and with it brings empowerment to take our fate into our own hands, join me and you will never know torture again!”
Lilith’s army grew once more with a vengeful cry, and they made their way to the next portal.
“Don’t be afraid to fail, my dear one, to fall is a part of life” Lucifer’s eyes shone with reassurance, “Just remember, the real journey begins after the fall.”

I love the idea that Lucifer is sort of a mentor here for Lilith. We always assume the devil is evil, but in reality, he's just a fallen angel. Flawed, yes, but not inherently evil.
Strange I have Lucifer as the bad guy in my book and Death as the heroine
