Acrostic April #2: Choose a trait that you embody - that will be the word that your sentences spell.
Every word, meant to eviscerate
No reprieve from the storm
Damage intended to obliterate
Under duress, but no scars form
Rising from the ashes
I keep my heart on my sleeve
No one around to sew the gashes
Grow up, you say, you call me naïve
Crashing against me, the waves of change
Only to remain strong
My heart, covered in mange
Pursuing a place to belong
Along the path
Snakes crawl at my feet
Songs on the wind, whispers of wrath
Invading my brain, spelling defeat
Only through pain
Never knowing compassion
Are you able see sunshine through rain
To truly hold on to pure passion
Endless strife,
Looking through the depths.
You, eventually, find peace in your life

Yes! Wow, this piece was phenomenal, Mina! The way you’ve distilled the resilience and strength into every line is stunning. I love the trait you’ve chosen as well for the acrostic aspect of the poem.
I have seen this trait reflected in your work and your actions on here time and time again. So grateful for you and your work. 🙏
